What you need to take with you when you move into your own place depends on the type of accommodation you are moving into.

We've listed the bare necessities here for you - remember you don't need to get everything brand new. You can pick up bargains at car boot sales, charity shops and from ads in the local paper. Friends and family are often helpful in passing on things they've finished with. Furniture schemes, the Broxtowe Basic Box Home Starter Pack and other services can also help you get started.
