Private Renting

rent book

Privately rented accommodation can be difficult to access for many young people - landlords are sometimes reluctant to let properties to very young people, or to those claiming state benefits. However, there are many privately rented properties available and it is worth making sure you know your rights and responsibilities before you sign anything!

Estate Agents and Letting Agents may advertise properties for private landlords. Most agents have websites and many advertise properties in the Nottingham Evening Post. RightMove is a website which lists a lot of properties.

Some landlords advertise the property themselves, look in the Evening Post, other local newspapers, websites and check in Post Office or newsagents notice boards.

First Lets is a website set up to help people find privately rented accommodation in Broxtowe, Rushcliffe or Gedling. Click here for more information.

Can't afford a deposit for a property? The Broxtowe Borough Council Deposit Guarantee Scheme might be able to help!
