What is Emergency Interim Accommodation?

Emergency Interim Accommodation is accommodation that is provided immediately if the Housing Officer decides you are homeless and in priority need. It is temporary accommodation while the Council investigate your case in more detail and/or wait for permanent accommodation to become available.

There are two main types of emergency interim accommodation: hostels and bed & breakfast.

There are hostels for families and young single people in Broxtowe. They offer somewhere to stay as well as support in getting ready to move on and securing permanent accommodation.

Bed & Breakfast is only used in emergencies when there is no other suitable accommodation available. The B&B might not be in the Borough and you aren't given a choice of places to stay. However, this type of accommodation is usually only used for quite short periods until other, more suitable, accommodation becomes available.
